Schedule My TourDreams Come True
There’s no time like the present to try a new adventure, revisit memories, or bond with friends and family. Your dream may be big, or small. It may be riding a horse for the first time, attending a sporting event with grandkids, or revisiting a childhood home.
Your dreams are important to us because they are important to you. They are what make you unique.
Our signature Dare To Dream program recognizes the special hopes and aspirations of our residents–and then makes them a reality! We aim to make at least one resident’s dream come true each month in our community.

Stories From Our Community
Mary
Mary has had a passion for ponies all her life and she enjoys sharing stories about her childhood in Dodgeville, a small rural community west of Madison, WI. Mary had a birth defect involving her lower extremities, so she has always needed assistance devices to help her walk. She used to ride her pony, Polly, to school and back, as well as for fun whenever she could.
Mary’s daughter mentioned that Mary always admires and comments on the horses in the fields when they are out in the country, so for Mary’s Dare To Dream a very handsome horse named Boaz came to Milestone to visit her. Mary was elated!
Mary’s daughter was aware of the plan for the horse’s visit and was thrilled her Mom would be able to see and pet a horse again. Mary had a delightful time, along with the other Milestone residents and families who got to meet Boaz.
Tura
Tura Gruber loves to share her stories of the numerous events in her life. One of her loves was cake decorating. She made over a hundred wedding cakes and many other special occasion cakes, as well as teaching cake decorating through the technical college for several years. When our Life Enrichment Director, Gail DeYoung, approached Tura about the idea of teaching residents basic cake decorating techniques, for Cake Decorating Day for her Dare To Dream, she was excited. She immediately informed Gail of all the supplies needed and all the other details she felt were important to teach.
She stated that her “hands were not steady enough to demonstrate” but that she would love to assist. After the basic techniques were demonstrated each of the residents used their skills to decorate their own cupcakes. Tura was thrilled to share her photo album of the many cakes she has created over the years.
Georgie
This afternoon, residents taking part in a program on the second floor were surprised to see a Police car pull into the parking lot. They could scarcely believe their eyes as they saw one of our residents, 90-year-old Georgie, being escorted to the police car by two officers!
They soon realized that one of the officers was Georgie’s grandson, and the police had come to take Georgie on her Dare to Dream outing–a ride in a real police cruiser with its lights and sirens on!
After riding through town, talking on the radio with Dispatch, and even passing by the county jail, the officers brought Georgie back home. Some of her fellow residents asked her if she had been “frisked,” and of course Georgie had to answer, “No!”
