An added benefit to living at Arlington Place at Oelwein, a Jaybird Senior Living facility, is the Dare to Dream program. During normal business activities, staff gets to know the residents on a deeply personal level and uses that information and dreams from residents in order to tailor make an activity specific to them. Alongside the Jaybird leadership team, the management staff puts together the details like “who, what, when, and where” the resident’s dream can be fulfilled. The Dare to Dream program is free of charge to the resident and their family members.

Recent completed Dare to Dreams have included:

• A bowling trip for an avid bowler named Audrey.

• A visit to the Amish bakery for a resident who used to do that regularly named Jean.

• A tour of Oelwein’s commercial laundering company for a longtime employee, Ken, who worked at a former location before the company moved in the 1990s.
