Jaybird Senior Living, the operating company behind Arlington Place at Grundy Center, is currently celebrating “A Tapestry of Time”, an initiative that honors the rich life stories of its residents. 

As part of this theme, Arlington Place hosted a special presentation highlighting the remarkable journey of Viola Vasey, a cherished 106-year-old resident.

“A Tapestry of Time” aims to weave together the diverse experiences and stories of residents, celebrating their unique contributions to the community. Viola’s life story serves as a captivating thread in this collective tapestry, spanning decades of history and personal growth.

Viola’s life began in a time without modern comforts like running water and electricity. She later made history as the first female crane operator during World War II, breaking barriers and inspiring others through the decades.
